The TV Series to Show Scouts in Action. The first in a series of 13 television shows, entitled The Boy Scout Show, will be seen over Channel 8, WFAA-TV., Dallas, starting Saturday, May 21 from 9 to 9:30 a.m. it was announced by P. M. Rutherford, Jr. leadership training chairman of Circle Ten Council, Boy Scouts of America.
“This is the first program of its type to be on any television station In the southwest,” said Mr. Rutherford, “and we urge every parent to watch the programs and every Cub leader, Scout and Explorer instructor to encourage his unit members to tune in on the show.” The show Itself, featuring Bob Perin, is the result of the combined efforts of a number of community-spirited people, none of who are professional television technicians, The first In the series of television shows, shows that are inspiring because, while they teach such things as map reading, sharpening an axe, how to camp, they’re really about boys, all boys, how they think, their attitudes, what they like, what they dislike. Bob Perin, whose acquaintance you will make starting Saturday at WFAA Channel 8, is not n professional actor. He Is an average American citizen, who, like most of us, works hard at his job, and Bob’s job is working with boys.
