The first in a series of 13 television shows, entitled The Boy Scout Show., will be seen over Chanel 8. WFAA-TV Dallas starting Saturday May 21 from 9 to 9:30 a.m it was announced by P M Rutherford, Jr., leadership training chairman of Circle Ten j Council. Boy Scouts of America This is the first program of its type to be on any television station in the southwest, said Mr. Rutherford, and we urge every parent to watch the program and every Cub leader. Scout Explorer leader to encourage his unit members to tune in on the show. The show itself, featuring Bob Perm, is the result of the combined efforts of a number of community j spirited people, none oi who are ; professional television technicians. [ The first in the scries of television i shows, shows that arc inspiring ! becaue. while they teach such things as map readin. sharpening an axe. how to camp, they are ! really about boys, all hoys, how i they think, their attitudes, what j they like, what they dislike, To j see the series will not only bring j about a keener understanding of j boys but will bring creator familv 1 pleasure to our lives and help u« all in preparing our sons for man hood. Bob Perin. whose acquamtamco you will make starting Saturday at 9 on Chanel 8, is not a professional actor, he is an average American citizen, who, like most of us work hard at his pob, and Bob’s job is working with boys. “The first show, this Saturday is about packing, and what pack ing really means in the life oi a boy. So tell your children, your friends and all boys to watch WFAA TV Channel 8, Saturday at 9 a. m., said Mr. Rutherford. “We appreciate the cooperation of WFAA-TV in this uresentation.” We urge every unit leader to plan a project following each week’s show for his own unit and keep a record of all boys watching the programs.”
